My journey in photography began in 2006 when I studied it at the Department of Defense School of Information at Fort Meade, Maryland. After graduating I deployed to Iraq as a combat photographer in the U.S. Marines. In the deserts and villages of Al Anbar I developed documentary style. There I tried to be subtle and swift, opening up the frame and letting Marines and Iraqis tell their story one frame at a time.
After honorably discharging from the Marines, It took some time for me to fully process my military experiences and I didn't do photography professionally again until 2017 when I was cast as a photographer at Disneyland, Anaheim , CA where I currently work. Here I have been able to apply my years of of directing experience with photography for the first time. Being able to flip obligatory family photos into cherishable, dazzling portraits to have and share is as rewarding as it is empowering.
As a longtime fan of live, heavy metal music, since 2023 I been bringing my camera to performance of some of my favorite music acts from around the world whenever they come to my town.
Self Portraits
I am so grateful that after all the hours I put into photography professionally, my family still inspires me top capture them.
